Bethel Education Campus
The Bethel Education Campus is accessible from many different entrances. You can enter through Whittlesey drive , Bethel Connecticut 06801. This is the most common entrance, which can bring you to all of the schools. Many of the attractions located here are spread out around the whole campus! Please restrict your use of attractions located at any of the schools to after school hours.
Have fun & be safe!
High School Courtyard
This shaded area is located between the high school and the indoor track house. This site is wheelchair accessible through the lower high school parking lot. It is also reachable from the upper parking lot, through a flight of stairs.
Bocce Courts
The bocce courts are a hidden gem on the bethel school campus! this site is located directly between the tennis courts and Rockwell school. to access the courts, please walk past the tennis courts, towards Rockwell. Then turn up the hill, and you've made it! This attraction includes 3 courts. Please bring your own equipment, there is none provided on site. This game is best for kids 8 +! the equipment can be a little heavy, simmilar to a smaller bowling ball. To access the game rules, click here.
Tennis Courts
The tennis courts are located between the bocce courts and the baseball courts. The courts should mostly be open! Please do not interrupt if there is a tennis lesson taking place! There is parking located across the street!
Gaga ball pit
The gaga ball pit is located on the side of the tennis courts, ans up the hill from Rockwell field. The pit has a dirt bottom, I recommend wearing sneakers! This game is fun or people of ages, click here for the rules!
Outdoor track
The outdoor track is accessible to all. it is located in back of the high school, and behind the middle school. please be courteous to others using the track, if you are running, please use the inner lanes of the track. For walkers, please stick to the outer lanes. 3 laps around the track is the equivalent to 1 mile! Again, the outdoor track is not the best option to bring you younger children to.
Indoor track house
The indoor track house is a great place for exercise, all year round. You may use the track house for a small fee- please register here- the Track house is otherwise locked! You must be 18 years or older to register, and a citizen of Bethel. This track house has two different levels, including a bathroom, and a traditional track- similar to the one located outside. There are also some field activities related to track included inside. In the entrance, there are cubbies to place your belongings. When visiting, please be curious to students using the facility to train. The indoor track house is located next to the high school, or behind the bethel police station. Only sneakers can be worn in the Track house.
Multipurpose field
The multipurpose field is currently being turfed! this project will be completed soon, but it is currently not open. The field is located to the side of the Middle School! This field is commonly used for sports practice, so please be careful not to interrupt students!
Baseball Field
This field is located next to the tennis courts and the track. The field is sometimes used for practices, but is most commonly open. There are bathrooms located next to the field! Also, the batting cages are located next to the field, but are used for students athletes only.
Football Field
The football field is located in the middle of the track. The field is sometimes used by students, but is mainly open during the school day. Also, when leaving please make sure to be courteous of the walker/runners using the track.
Rockwell Field
This field is located next to Rockwell school. This field has soccer goals as well as a football goal located at both sides of the field. There are benches located to the sides. This field is utilized during Rockwell recess, and sports practices! There are small set of bleachers located to one side as well.
Restrooms
Restrooms are located across from the track and next to the baseball field. These restrooms (to my knowledge) are open year round. Please reach out to let me know if this is not the case!
Bethel campus playgrounds:
Rockwell K-1 Playground
This playground is located behind Rockwell school, the parking entrance is right past Rockwell school! this playground would be best for children ages 5-12. There are lots of engaging equipment, but would not be best for smaller toddlers. Right in the middle is a sitting area! Please do not use when school is in session (8:45am to 3:20pm). In addition, please be courteous to after care, they will likely be out using the playground after school hours as well.
Rockwell Grade 2 Playground
This playground, located on the other side of Rockwell school, is quite different from the newer one located on the other side of the building. To the right of the picture, there is a small swing set in addition. this playground is also very engaging, mainly for slightly younger audience. I would recommend this for children 3-10. the playground is slightly smaller, and could be less entertaining to older children. Like the other Rockwell playground, please do not use when school is in session (8:45am to 3:20pm). In addition, please be courteous to after care, they will likely be out using the playground after school hours as well.
Berry School Playground
The Berry playground is located behind Berry School , located to the side of the High School. Please do not use when school is in session (8:45am to 3:20pm). This playground has multiple swing sets as well as some playscapes. This playground would be great if your child likes to come up with their own games! In addition, please be courteous to after care, they will likely be out using the playground after school hours as well.
Johnson School Playground
This is a birds-eye view of the Johnson school playground. This playground also includes a large blacktop, with four-square boxes, a large swing set, and a basketball court. This play set has a lot of options for exploring at all ages. there are lots of monkey-bars variations as well as a traditional play set. Please do not use when school is in session (8:45am to 3:20pm). In addition, please be courteous to after care, they will likely be out using the playground after school hours as well.
