Parloa Park
Parloa Park is located on 17 Blackman Ave, Bethel, CT 06801. The park is situated right in downtown Bethel. Parloa park was donated to Bethel back in 1909 by Maria Parloa. For many reasons, this park is a gem in downtown Bethel.
Below I have listed with detail all of what Parola has to offer:
Big Playground
This Big playground is perfect for ages 5-12! Unlike the small playground, there is more equipment that those ages can handle. This includes bigger slides and things to climb on!
Little Playground
This small playground is perfect for younger ones, between 2-5. This playground is not too big and does not have a super overwhelming design to it. It includes stairs, small slides, and interactive objects!
Big Swings
These swings are best for older kids. The design of these swings allowing someone too usually swing more independently.
Adaptive Swing
This is a swing which is meant for kids that are handicapped. It is made in a way that would make a child with disabilities more comfortable. It also allows them to experience the fun of swinging like others.
Baby Swings
These swings are perfect for younger ages. They make sure your child will be secure in the seat. Allowing you to know as you push your child in the air, they're very safe.
Basketball Court
This court includes two hoops to use for basketball play alone or with others. Nice smooth pavement to dribble or run while playing.
Baseball Diamond
This diamond includes baseball dirt and bases. This setup making it perfect for many different games.
Soccer Field
This field is huge with lots of room to enjoy many activities, sports, or games. There are also benches scattered around that are a perfect seating option.
Relaxing Spots
As, it can be understood whether it be that you came to the park alone or you're watching your child you want a place to relax. Luckily, places to sit down at. For example, there are different benches and Picnic tables that are perfect to sit at. There are also many different trees that provide some great shade. The shade the trees provide defiantly is a perfect place to be under on a hot day.
Garden of Beauty
Near the entrance of the soccer field a flower garden can be found. Within this garden there are a variety of little flowers. These flowers are so vibrant and gorgeous that they will no doubt bring a smile to your face.
Safety
Safety is very important, especially if you are bringing your child to the park. Parola understands this and has many different things to make sure to keep your child as safe as possible. This includes fencing to keep your child safe from wandering from the park grounds. You will also find different warning signs (in both English and Spanish) to make sure your child is being safe. Lastly, there is a sign that makes people aware that the park is tobacco-free. In other words, you won't have to worry about your child inhaling the type of smoke from a tobacco product at the park.
Bike Rack
At the park you will also find that there is a bike rack right near the baseball diamond. Which is perfect to use if your transportation to the park is a bike or even a scooter!
Trash
It can be so frustrating when you have garbage but you are somewhere with no garbage bins. However, near the basketball court, you will find that there is a garbage container. This is perfect for whatever you need to dispose.
Parking Lot
Near Parola Park there is a huge parking lot. This is a perfect place to park your car when you plan on going to Parola. All you have to do from there is use the sidewalk and walk just a very short distance to reach Parola. So convenient!

Renovations
*To touch upon the future, Parola will be going through some renovations. Parks and Rec of Bethel have been discussing different ideas of the renovations that should be done. This includes reconstructing the parking lot, expanding the playground area and adding in new swings, putting in a splash pad, giving the park new seating and more!
